So this past week has been very emotional in the Pitts household. Alot of tears by Tiana and Mike sometimes looking at me like huh? You ok? Are you crying?
About two years ago, I applied to Principal Fellows. Last year around this time I had found out I didn't get it and that the reason they gave me wasn't exactly accurate. That's a long story and I really don't want to dwell on the negative.
So, God takes you through things like this to teach you something for sure. I didn't know it but God wanted me to experience the failure in my eyes so that he could reveal himself to me in another way. To make a long story short I got a phone call by the program in December asking me to submit a addition to my application from the previous year. I prayed about it and sent in my addendum. In March, Mike and I traveled down to Chapel Hill for my interview with a panel of principals throughout NC. I walked away from the interview knowing that God was in control and if this is what he wanted for my life he would make it happen. I received a letter in late April that I was selected for the program.
This brings me to now. Two days ago I closed my classroom door to pursue Administration. It's been a really hard week knowing this was the last time I would have a classroom, teach math to middle schoolers, and leave my Mendenhall family. I wrote letters to my dearest friends at Mendenhall and shed a lot of tears of joy and sadness. The night before the last day of school was ironically the first night that I was meeting other Fellows. We went through ice breakers talking about our experience, family, hobbies, and lastly the reason we wanted to become an Administrator. It was perfect for me to be reminded by God why I was ending a chapter in my life to start a new chapter. I want to become an Administrator because God has put a hunger in me to impact lives. I'm so very thankful that I have had the opportunity to impact and be impacted by many middle schoolers, volleyball players, and kids at church. God has called me to not stop but impact more. He has equipped me with an amazing opportunity where the state pays for my education. God knows what he is doing! His timing is Always PERFECT!! I'm telling you that he constantly reveals his power, love and covering through situations like this. He does this for me and I'm telling you he can do it for you. He's good!
We are so excited about where God is taking us. Mike is such a great support! We know God has big plans for us as individuals and most of all as a family. We are ready to be used by Him!!

Come and go with us
So, I know it's been a long time again and I promise I have a great excuse. :-) I have been super busy since summer with getting engaged, coaching volleyball, and then getting married. If you have ever planned a wedding then you know how hectic that can get. Well I planned a wedding and coached volleyball at the same time. Pretty much a blur!! LOL! It actually was so worth it on the day of the wedding. We honestly had such a blast with family and friends. It was a celebration that we will never ever forget.

Life is...
Well what can I say! It's been a long time but God has truly blessed me in so many ways. I had an amazing opportunity to run after God's heart and grow a lot closer to him. While my heart grew closer to his he gave me an amazing gift. He gave me an amazing man of God who truly loves me for me. It's hard for me to put into words how amazing he is to me. I can't express how thankful I am to God for sending me this amazing, loving, giving, God seeking, sexy (AMEN), and genuine MAN!!

Pray like a Child
I'm reading this new book called a Praying Life by Paul E. Miller. Man my eyes are opened already. Do you often find yourself restless in prayer? Distracted by your to do list? This book is for you! That's exactly how it caught my eye. My friend Amy was telling me about how she read it and it changed her perspective of prayer. I knew my prayer life needed work too so I bought the book.
So I just read how important it is to Pray like a child. He referenced in the bible how often Jesus wants us to come before him like children. One part that really hit me is come to him messy. I know as Christians we believe that God call's people to him in the middle of their mess. He doesn't want you to get clean then get saved. He seeks you where you are.
Well, I feel like we forget that when we become a Christian. He doesn't want us to get everything together then pray. The bible says "Come to me all who are weary and heavy laded, and I will give you rest." Matt. 11:28. Thank God he doesn't say come who all have it together and are perfect at this prayer thing. God wants us as we are and where we are. He's like a parent excited about our every accomplishment even if it's delayed.
I hope this encourages you to come to God as you are and not wait to have everything figured out before you seek him. He's so cool like that!! Be encouraged!

God's LOVE
I'm so thankful for God's love toward me. Have you ever just thought about how amazing he is and how much he cares for us. When we don't understand what he's doing in our lives we always seem to end up at this point where we look back and just thank him so much for doing what he did. I'm can't express enough how blessed I am to call him my savior, my father, and my Lord.
